Our History
Where it all started
Bill Conner holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington. He was a member of the residential construction community, building for sale and rental housing throughout the Puget Sound region, since joining his brother John at Conner Development Company in 1959.
The Conner companies built homes, apartments and condominiums, and rehabilitated historic hotels. The company was the pioneer of the "Zero Lot Line" concept in the Seattle area, and received numerous environmental, design and marketing awards.
Chateau Development Company
Founded in 1977, Charlie Conner started Chateau Development Company, a land holding and development company, which was ultimately incorporated in 1988. Chateau Development company constructed single family and multi-family dwellings, and developed single family lots in the State of Washington. Charlie lived and breathed the residential construction business since joining the family company of Conner Development upon graduation from grade school. He continued to work as a framer during college and upon graduation from the University of Washington assumed responsibility as a Superintendent. In 1985, he became a Construction Manager, responsible for the supervision of multiple projects.
Chateau Development Company / Conner Development
In 1988, Chateau Development was incorporated. Charlie Conner also served as the General Manager of Conner Development. Long before Energy Star was mainstream, Chateau was a pioneer in applying recycling and conservation innovations to home building.
Conner Development
In 1997, Bill Conner retired. Conner Development and Chateau Development merged and all future projects were completed under the Conner Development name. Charlie purchased the company from his father in 2000. He is also President of The Conner Group, a brokerage firm dedicated to selling Conner homes and neighborhoods.
Conner Homes Names Michael Lorenz President
Michael Lorenz was appointed as the president of Conner Homes in July of 2019. He succeeds Charlie Conner, who stepped down as president and currently serves an advisory role for to the company, mostly in new community and home design. Charlie continues to serve on the Conner Homes Board of Directors and as a company ambassador.
Conner Homes Names Erin Fowler President
Erin Fowler assumed the role of President at Conner Homes in September 2023, marking a pivotal moment in the company's leadership transition. Her appointment follows the departure of Michael Lorenz, who gracefully relinquished his position as President. This transition signifies a new era for Conner Homes, as Erin Fowler steps into this prominent role with a wealth of experience and a vision to guide the company forward.
